Application for approval of the Australian Roads Traffic Services NSW Pty Ltd / AWU Traffic Control Greenfield Agreement 2014.

[1] An application has been made for approval of an enterprise agreement known as the Australian Roads Traffic Services NSW Pty Ltd / AWU Traffic Control Greenfield Agreement 2014 (“the Agreement”). The application was made pursuant to s.185 of the Fair Work Act 2009 (the Act). It has been made by the Australian Workers’ Union. The Agreement is a greenfields agreement.

[2] I am satisfied each of the requirements of ss.186, 187 and 188 relevant to this application for approval has been met.

[3] I am satisfied that The Australian Workers’ Union, the employee organisation to be covered by the agreement, is entitled to represent the industrial interests of a majority of the employees to be covered by the Agreement, and that it is in the public interest to approve the Agreement.

[4] The Agreement is approved and, in accordance with s.54 of the Act, will operate from 11 April 2014. The nominal expiry date is 30 June 2016.
