An Act to make provision for determining the Date of the Termination of the Present War and for purposes connected therewith.

BE it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, the Senate,

2.—(1.) The Governor-General may, by proclamation, declare what date shall be deemed to be the date of the termination of the

(2.) The date declared by the Governor-General in pursuance of this section shall be as nearly as may be the date of the exchange or deposit of ratifications of the treaty or treaties of peace.

3. For the purposes of any provision in any Act, Order in Council, Proclamation or Regulation referring expressly or impliedly

by that officer during the continuance of the present war, the Governor-General may, if he thinks fit, and notwithstanding the issue of a proclamation in pursuance of section two of this Act, fix, as the date of the termination of those powers, an earlier date than that declared in the proclamation.
