REGULATIONS UNDER THE POST AND TELEGRAPH ACT 1901-1923.

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Post and Telegraph Act 1901-1923, to come into operation forthwith.

Amendment of the Telephone Regulations.

(Statutory Rules 1927, No. 145, as amended to this date.)

1. Regulation 72 is amended by inserting after sub-regulation (2.) the following sub-regulations:—

(3.) Where an application for the transfer of a telephone service is made, the proper form of transfer, containing the transferor’s consent to the transfer, shall be executed.

(4.) The transferee shall be liable for all amounts owing in respect of the service as well as amounts which become payable in respect of any subsequent use of the service unless the transferor is required by the Department to pay any outstanding charges before the transfer is authorised.

2. Regulation 73 is repealed.
