Telecommunications Technical Standard

(Mobile Station for AMPS Analogue Cellular Mobile Telecommunications System—ACA TS 005 – 1997)

THE AUSTRALIAN COMMUNICATIONS AUTHORITY, makes the following technical standard under subsection 376 (1) of the Telecommunications Act 1997.

Title

1.   This Technical Standard may be cited as ACA TS 005 – 19971.

[NOTE:  This Standard takes effect on gazettal:  see Telecommunications Act 1997 s. 376 (5).]

Definitions

2.   In this Standard:

“ACA” means the Australian Communications Authority;

“AMPS” means the analogue cellular mobile telecommunications system known as ‘advanced mobile phone system’;

“customer equipment” has the meaning it has in the Act;

“the Act” means the Telecommunications Act 1997.

Standard for customer equipment transmitting in the voice frequency range for connection to the PSTN or ISDN

3.   For paragraphs 376 (2) (a), (b), (c) and (d) of the Act, the standard for customer equipment for connection to an AMPS telecommunications network is the standard set out in the document known as “ACA TS 005 – 1997” approved by the ACA on 10 December 1997.
