THE AUSTRALIAN COMMUNICATIONS AUTHORITY, makes the following technical standard under subsection 376 (1) of the Telecommunications Act 1997.

Title
1. This Technical Standard may be cited as ACA TS 014 – 19971.
[NOTE: This Standard takes effect on gazettal: see Telecommunications Act 1997 s. 376 (5).]
Definitions
2. In this Standard:
“ACA” means the Australian Communications Authority;
“customer equipment” has the meaning it has in the Act;
“ISDN” means the Integrated Services Digital Network;
“telecommunications network” has the meaning it has in subsection 374(1) of the Act;
“the Act” means the Telecommunications Act 1997.
Standard for general requirements for customer equipment connected to a telecommunications network via the ISDN Primary Rate Access Interface
3. For paragraphs 376 (2) (a), (b), (c) and (d) of the Act, the standard for general requirements for customer equipment connected to a telecommunications network via the ISDN Primary Rate Access Interface is the standard set out in the document known as “ACA TS 014 – 1997” approved by the ACA on 10 December 1997.
