of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulation under

After regulation 9 of the Telecommunications Regulations the following regulation is inserted:
“10. For the purposes of subsection 171 (3) of the Act, the following allowances are prescribed:
(a) for the Chairperson of AUSTEL for the period commencing on the day on which the appointment of the Chairperson under section 158 of the Act commenced—the allowances payable to the Secretary to the Department of Transport and Communications;
(b) for each of the 2 other members of AUSTEL for the period commencing on the day on which the appointment of that member under that section as a full time member commenced—the allowances payable to a Level 5 officer in the Senior Executive Service of the Australian Public Service;
excluding expenses of office allowance, district allowance and any allowance relating to travelling.”.
