I, PHILIP MAXWELL RUDDOCK, Attorney‑General, make this Instrument under subsection 6 (2D) of the Telecommunications (Interception and Access) Act 1979.

  1. Name of Instrument

This Instrument is the Telecommunications (Interception and Access) (Emergency Service Facilities — Northern Territory) Instrument  2007.

  1. Commencement

This Instrument commences on the day after it is registered.

  1. Revocation

The Telecommunications (Interception) (Emergency Service Facility — Northern Territory) Instrument 2005 is revoked.

  1. Definitions

In this Instrument:

Act means the Telecommunications (Interception and Access) Act 1979.

NT ESF Declaration means the Telecommunications (Interception and Access) (Emergency Service Facilities — Northern Territory) Declaration 2007 as existing on the commencement of this Instrument.

  1. Emergency service facilities

(1)   For subsection 6 (2D) of the Act and in relation to item 101 of Schedule 1 to the NT ESF Declaration, the Police Service of the Northern Territory and the Northern Territory Emergency Service operate the premises located in the geographical region of Alice Springs.

(2)   For subsection 6 (2D) of the Act and in relation to item 102 of Schedule 1 to the NT ESF Declaration, the Police Service of the Northern Territory operates the premises located in the geographical region of Tennant Creek.

(3)   For subsection 6 (2D) of the Act and in relation to Part 2 of Schedule 1 to the NT ESF Declaration, the Ambulance Service of the Northern Territory operates the premises located in the geographical region of Alice Springs.

(4)   For subsection 6 (2D) of the Act and in relation to Part 3 of Schedule 1 to the NT ESF Declaration, the Police Service of the Northern Territory, the Northern Territory Fire and Rescue Service and the Ambulance Service of the Northern Territory operate the premises located in the geographical region of Berrimah.
