1  Name

(1)   This instrument is the Telecommunications (Interception and Access) (Communications Access Co-ordinator) Amendment Instrument 2020.

(2)   This instrument may be cited as LIN 20/218

2  Commencement

This instrument commences the day it is registered on the Federal Register of Legislation.

3  Authority

This instrument is made under subsection 6R(2) of the Telecommunications (Interception and Access) Act 1979.

4  Schedules

Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.

Schedule 1—Amendments

Telecommunications (Interception and Access) (Communications Access Co-ordinator) Instrument 2019

1  Section 4

Repeal the following definitions:

(a)    definition of Policy Group;

(b)   definition of  Security and Resilience Group.

2  Section 5

Omit “mentioned in paragraphs (a) to (f)”, substitute “mentioned in one of the following paragraphs”.

3  Paragraph 5(a)

Omit “National Security and Law Enforcement Policy Division of the Policy Group”, substitute “Strategy and Law Enforcement Group”.

4  Paragraph 5(b)

Omit “National Security and Law Enforcement Policy Division of the Policy Group”, substitute “Law Enforcement Policy Division of the Strategy and Law Enforcement Group”.

5  Paragraph 5(c)

Omit “Policy Group”, substitute “Strategy and Law Enforcement Group”.

6  Paragraph 5(d)

Omit “Critical Infrastructure Security Division of the Security and Resilience Group”, substitute “National Resilience and Cyber Security Group”.

7  Paragraph 5(e)
