The AUSTRALIAN COMMUNICATIONS AND MEDIA AUTHORITY makes this Determination under subsection 20 (1) of the Telecommunications (Numbering Charges) Act 1997.

1. Name of Determination

This Determination is the Telecommunications (Amounts of Annual Charge) Determination 2007.

1. Commencement

This Determination commences on the day after it is registered.

1. Telecommunications (Amounts of Annual Charge) Determination 2006 — revocation

The Telecommunications (Amounts of Annual Charge) Determination 2006 is revoked.

1. Definitions

In this Determination:

Act means the Telecommunications (Numbering Charges) Act 1997.

incoming only international number has the meaning given in the numbering plan.

internal network service has the meaning given in the numbering plan.

testing service has the meaning given in the numbering plan.

Note A number of expressions used in this Determination are defined in section 5 of the Act, including:

●     ACMA

●     carriage service provider

●     number

●     numbering plan.

1. Specification of amounts of charge (Act s 20)

(1)   For subsection 20 (1) of the Act, Part 1 of Schedule 1 sets out amounts of charge for each of the following numbers:

(a)    incoming only international numbers;

(b)    numbers specified in the numbering plan for use in connection with internal network services;

(c)    numbers specified in the numbering plan for use in connection with testing services.

(2)   For subsection 20 (1) of the Act, Part 2 of Schedule 1 sets out amounts of charge for numbers to which subsection (1) does not apply.

Note 1 Under section 18 of the Act, a charge is imposed on an allocated number if a carriage service provider holds the allocated number at the beginning of a given day in April, as determined by the ACMA for that year. A determination must be made by 16 February for that year and gazetted before the relevant date in April.

Note 2   Under subsection 20 (1) of the Act, the amount of charge imposed on a number held at a particular time is the amount ascertained in accordance with a written determination made by the ACMA.
