MR M.G. TAYLOR appeared in person.

MS C.M. QUIN:   Your Honour, I appear for the respondent.  (instructed by Solicitor for Public Prosecutions)

HIS HONOUR:   Yes.

MS QUIN:   Your Honour, it is an application on behalf of Mr Taylor to extend time for him to file the summary of argument in relation to his special leave application.  He has not done so within the 28 days.  Mr Taylor has spoken to me this morning and indicated that he has secured counsel to be able to do that and can do so within three weeks and I think Mr Taylor is seeking a four week extension to file his summary.

HIS HONOUR:   What do you say to four weeks?

MS QUIN:   That is not opposed, your Honour.

HIS HONOUR:   So if I were to extend the time until – if we said 4.00 pm on 22 September, that is just a day over the four weeks, but that is 4.00 pm on Friday, 22 September, would you wish to be heard against that?

MS QUIN:   No, your Honour.  That is for filing the summary of argument in relation to the special leave.

HIS HONOUR:   Then I will make the order in the form – extend the time by which the applicant is to file and serve his summary of argument to 4.00 pm Friday, 22 September 2006.

MS QUIN:   Yes, your Honour.

HIS HONOUR:   Is there any other order I would need to make today?

MS QUIN:   No, your Honour.

HIS HONOUR:   Mr Taylor, you understand you have until 4.00 pm on that Friday?

MR TAYLOR:   Yes, yes, sir.

HIS HONOUR:   And that is it.

MR TAYLOR:   Yes, sir.  Yes, thank you.

HIS HONOUR:   Yes, very well.  Thank you.

MS QUIN:   If your Honour pleases.

HIS HONOUR:   Thank you, Ms Quin.
