1, There shall be raised, levied, collected, and paid to Her Incrcased(1utie~

Majesty, upon the importation into thc Province of South Australia of the animals and goods mentioned in the Schedule hereto, duties at the rate set forth in the said Schedule.

2, The Collector of Customs and all officers of Customs are Collector~rotected.

hereby indemnified, protected, and held harmless against any action, claim, or damage to which he or they might otherwise have been liable by reason of any refusal to deliver any animals or goods imported into the said province on and after the twenty- fifth day of August, onc thousand eight hundred and ninety-two, or in bond on that day, without payment of the duties set forth in this Act and the schedule hereto.

money as will be equivalent to the additional duty which shall by reason of the provisions of this Act have been paid or made payable on such animals or goods, and shall be entitled by virtue of this Act to be paid the same accordingly by the purchaser of such animals or goods, and to sue for and recover the same against such purchaser.

The duties imposed by this Act shall not apply to animals

introduced into the Northern Territory: Provided the same are not

brought south of the twenty-sixth parallel of south latitude.
