Act of 1888, the Legislative Assembly did, by resolution, declare that it was expedient to carry out a certain work, namely, Water Supply Works for the town of Tamwortii: And wher(\as, on the passing of the said resolution, a statutory duty was by the said Act imposed on the Secretary for Public Works to introduce a Bill into the said Assembly to sanction tlie carrying out of the said irork: Be it therefore enacted liythe Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South "Wales in Parliament assemliled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :—

Work sanctioned.

1.

The carrying out of the said ivork (more particularly described

in the Schedule to this Act) is hereby sanctioned; and the Secretary for Public Works, or the Member of the Executive Council for tlie tim(5 being performing the duties of the said Secretary, is hereby authorised to undertake and carry out the said work subject to tlie provisions of this Act.

2. The plan of tlie said work is the plan marked “ Tamwortii Water Supply,” signed by the Secretary for Public Works and counter­ signed by the Engineer-in-Chief for Public MNrks, and deposited in the office of the said Secretary.

The cost of carrying out the wairk hereby sanctioned, estimated at thirty-seven thousand five hundred and twenty-two pounds, may be defrayed from such Loan Votes as are now or may hereafter he applicable thereto, and shall not under any circumstances exceed the estimated cost by more than ten per centum.

Short title.

5. This Act may be cited as the “ Tamwortii Water Supply Works Act, 1896,” and shall he construed as one with the Country Towns Water and Sewerage Act of 1880, the Country Towns Water and Sewerage Act Extension Act of 1887, and so much of the Country Towns and Hunter District Water Supply and Sewerage iLcts Amend­ ment Act of 1891 as amends the Acts above-mentioned.

The proposed works are shown (approximately) by rod lines on the plan referred

to in seel ion two of this Act.

They consist of :—

1. A concrete dam acro.ss Moore Creek to form a storage reservoir with a capacity

of fifty million gallons.

2. About eleven anil a half miles of seven-inch steel pipes from the storage reservoir

to the service reservoir.

2. A concrete service reservoir with a capacity of half a million gallons.

4. About one mile of nine-inch steid jiijies from the service reservoir to the town.

5. About twenty and a (|uartermiles of six-inch, four-inch,and three-inch reticulation
