SZJAI v Minister for Immigration and Citizenship
[2008] HCASL 278
SZJAI
v
MINISTER FOR IMMIGRATION AND CITIZENSHIP & ANOR
[2008] HCASL 278
S564/2007
The applicant is a citizen of the Republic of Korea. The Refugee Review Tribunal upheld a decision of a delegate of the first respondent to refuse a protection visa. Despite having been told by the Tribunal that it was unable to make a decision favourable to him on the documentary material, and despite being invited to attend the Tribunal hearing to give oral evidence and present arguments, he did not come. The application was rejected because of its want of detail.
The Federal Magistrates Court (Lloyd-Jones FM) dismissed an application for judicial review. The Federal Court of Australia (Finkelstein J) dismissed an appeal.
The document filed by the applicant in support of his application for special leave to appeal to this Court repeats the three grounds rejected in the two courts below, but offers no reason for concluding that those courts were in error.
The application is dismissed.
Pursuant to r 41.10.5 we direct the Registrar to draw up, sign and seal an order dismissing the application for special leave.
