Act, 1900. the Legislative Assembly did, by resolution, declare that it was expedient to carry out a certain work, namely, the completion of the raising and re-lining of the lower canal, and the construction of an aqueduct at Booth Town, Sydney Water Supply : And An Act to sanction the completion of the raising and re-lining of the Lower Canal, and the construction of an Aqueduct at Booth Town, Sydney Water Supply; and for other pur
poses. [9th December, 1905.]
WHEREAS in accordance with the provisions of the Public Works
And whereas, on the passing of the said resolution, a statutory duty was, by the said Act, imposed on the Secretary for Public Works to introduce a Bill into the said Legislative Assembly to sanction the carrying out of the work : Be it therefore enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :—
1. This Act may be cited as the "Sydney Water Supply Conduit Additional Works Act, 1905," and shall be construed with the Metropolitan Water and Sewerage Acts, 1880-1889, the Metropolitan Water and Sewerage Act of 1894, the Sydney Water Supply Conduit Additional Works Act, 1897, and the Sydney Water Supply (Cataract Liver Dam) Act, 1902.
2. The carrying out of the said work (more particularly described in the Schedule to this Act) is hereby sanctioned, and the Secretary for Public Works, or the member of the Executive Council for the time being performing the duties of the said Secretary, is hereby authorised to undertake and carry out the said work, subject to the provision of this Act, and for that purpose shall be and shall have the powers and duties of a constructing authority within the meaning of the Public Works Act, 1900.
3. The plan of the said work is the plan marked " A," and signed by the Engineer-in-Chief for the Metropolitan Board of Water Supply and Sewerage, and deposited in the public office of the said secretary.
4. The cost of carrying out the said work, estimated at sixty-six thousand four hundred and fifty-five pounds, may be defrayed from such loan votes as are now or may hereafter be applicable to that purpose, and shall not under any circumstances exceed the estimated cost by more than ten per centum.
5. On the completion of the said work, the Governor shall forthwith notify the same in the Gazette. And upon that notification being made, the property in the said work shall, by virtue of this Act alone, be vested in the Board of Water Supply and Sewerage constituted

The works consist" of
(1) l iaising and re lining with Monier plates the lower canal from Prospect to Pipe Head, to increase t he discharging capacity of the said canal to eighty seven million six hundred and th i r ty five thousand gallons per day.
(2) The reconstruction of the aqueduct a t Booth Town.(3) The necessary a l tera t ions to flumes and side drainage, and the rearrangement of
occupation bridges, in connection with the improvement of the canal.
(4) The fixing of a Ven tu re meter for the measurement of the water discharged by
the canal.
