Explanatory note

The Sydney Water Catchment Management Act 1998 constitutes the Sydney Catchment Authority to manage and protect certain catchment areas and catchment infrastructure works that affect the supply of water. Previously, the management and protection of those areas and works was the sole responsibility of the Sydney Water Corporation. The object of this Regulation is to amend the Sydney Water Corporation Limited (Catchment Management) Regulation 1995 (the “Principal Regulation”) to remove those provisions dealing with matters that will now be the responsibility of the Sydney Catchment Authority.

Amendments made by the Water Legislation Amendment (Drinking Water and Corporate Structure) Act 1998 to the Sydney Water Act 1994 constituted the Sydney Water Corporation to replace Sydney Water Corporation Limited. This Regulation makes amendments to the Principal Regulation that are consequential on those amendments.

2 Commencement

This Regulation commences on the date of commencement of Part 5 (Catchment areas) of the Sydney Water Catchment Management Act 1998.
