An Act to appropriate and apply certain Sums raised or to be raised under the Sydney Sewerage Act of 1853 and the Sydney Water Act of 1853 for the service of the Year 1857.

au tho r i t y of t h e same as follows :—
1. Ou t of any sum or sums of money borrowed or to be borrowed in pu r suance of t he provisions of t h e Sydney Sewerage A c t of 1853 the re shall and m a y be issued a n d applied any s u m or sums of money no t exceeding thirty-five thousand five h u n d r e d and seventy- five pounds to defray the probable expendi ture requi red for t he Sydney Sewerage W o r k s u n d e r t he said A c t for the year one thousand e ight

h u n d r e d and fifty-seven.

2. Ou t of any sum or sums of money borrowed or to be borrowed in p u r s u a n c e of the provisions of t h e Sydney W a t e r A c t of 1853 the re shal l a n d may be issued and applied any sum or sums of money no t exceeding n ine ty- three thousand four h u n d r e d a n d th i r t een

pounds to defray t h e probable expend i tu re of the Sydney W a t e r W o r k s

unde r t h e said Ac t	for t he year one thousand eight h u n d r e d and	fifty-
seven.	3.

3. The Treasurer of t he said Colony shall issue and pay t h e said several sums to such persons for t h e purposes hereinbefore men t ioned upon such days and in such propor t ions as t h e Governor by any w a r r a n t or order in wr i t i ng u n d e r his h a n d and directed to t he said Treasurer shall from t ime to t ime order and direct.

4. The said Treasurer shall in his accounts from t ime to t ime be allowed credit for any s u m or sums of money paid by h im in pur suance of such w a r r a n t or order in wr i t i ng as aforesaid and the receipt or receipts of t h e respect ive persons to w h o m t h e same shall be so paid shall be a full and valid discharge to t h e said Treasurer in pass ing his said accounts for any such s u m or sums as shall be there in ment ioned and he shall receive credit for t h e same accordingly.
