I, the Minister for Urban Affairs and Planning, in pursuance of section 51 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, make the regional environmental plan set out below.

1. This plan may be cited as Sydney Regional Environmental Plan
No. 26—City West (Amendment No. 6).
Aims, objectives etc.
2. This plan aims to promote the social and economic welfare of the community by prohibiting the carrying on of the business of a pawnbroker or any other moneylender on land in the Ultimo-Pyrmont Precinct of City West.
Land to which plan applies
3. This plan applies to all land in the Ultimo-Pyrmont Precinct of City West, within the meaning of Sydney Regional Environmental Plan No. 26—City West.
Relationship to other environmental planning instruments
4. This plan amends Sydney Regional Environmental Plan No. 26— City West in the manner set out in clause 5.

West
5. Sydney Regional Environmental Plan No. 26—City West is
amended by inserting after Division 8 of Part 3 the following Division:
Division 8A—Prohibited land uses
Pawnbrokers shops and money lending businesses
48B. The use of any building or place in the Ultimo-Pyrmont Precinct for the purpose of carrying on the business of a pawnbroker or any other moneylender is prohibited.
A pawnbroker is a person who carries on a business of lending money on the security of pawned goods.
This clause does not apply to the carrying on, in good faith and in the ordinary course of banking or mercantile transactions, of the business
of a bank, building society or credit union.
