HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Sydney Electricity Act 1990, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Citation

1. This Regulation may be cited as the Sydney Electricity (Amalgamation of Electricity Distributors) (Transitional) Regulation 1995.

Commencement

2. This Regulation commences on 1 October 1995.

Transitional provisions regarding conditions of supply of electricity

3. (1) The conditions on which electricity is to be supplied to a person by MetNorth Energy (including conditions as to tariffs and charges) are to be the same as those on which electricity was supplied to that person by Sydney Electricity immediately before 1 October 1995.

(2) This clause has effect until new conditions of supply are established in accordance with the Electricity Act 1945.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Regulation is to ensure that, until new conditions are duly fixed, the conditions of supply that applied to electricity supplied by Sydney Electricity immediately before its electricity supply functions were transferred to MetNorth Energy continue to apply to electricity supplied by MetNorth Energy.

This Regulation relates to matters of a savings or transitional nature.

This Regulation is made under the Sydney Electricity Act 1990, including section 53

(the general regulation making power) and section 53A.
