1, (1) This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Sydney Cor­ poration (Elections) Act, 1934,” and shall be read and construed with the Sydney Corporation Act, 1932, as amended by subsequent Acts.

(2) This Act shall be deemed to have commenced on the twenty-second day of June, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-four.

2. (1) The triennial election of aldermen of the City

(2) The aldermen of the City of Sydney in office at the commencement of this Act may, subject to the provisions of the Sydney Corporation Act, 1932, as amended by subsequent Acts, including this Act, remain in office until the election of aldermen on the first Monday in December, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-four, is held, and shall then retire from office, but may at such election be re-elected if otherwise qualified.
