All Act to amend the "Sydney Corporation

Act of 1879." [21st July, 1884.]

W H E R E A S it is expedient to ex tend t h e powers re la t ing to
publ ic ways conferred by t h e " S y d n e y Corporat ion A c t of

1879" Re it therefore enacted by t h e Queen ' s Most Exce l l en t Majes ty by and wi th t h e advice and consent of t he Legislat ive Council and Legis la t ive Assembly of N e w South W a l e s in P a r l i a m e n t assembled and by the au thor i ty of t h e same as follows :—

1. I t shall be lawful for t he Munic ipa l Council of Sydney for t he purpose of opening a l te r ing widening diver t ing ex t end ing or closing any publ ic way or port ion of a public way in t h e City of Sydney—

(I.) To purchase any land

( I I . ) T O exchange any por t ion of a publ ic way vested in t he said

Counci l for land required by the said Council for any of the aforesaid purposes

(III.) To sell any land forming p a r t of a way which is not required

for any such purpose

A n d every por t ion of land acquired u n d e r t h e au thor i ty of th i s Ac t shall be vested in t h e Council as a publ ic way under and subject to t he provisions of t h e said Act .
2. N o purchase sale or exchange of land unde r th is A c t shall

be valid un t i l t he same has been sanctioned by t h e Governor and

notified in t he Gazette.
