Swine Compensation Fund Acts Repeal Act 1990, No. 64 1115 BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- 1. Short title . This Act may be cited as the Swine Compensation Fund Acts Repeal Act 1990. 2. Commencement . (1) Except as provided by subsection (2), this Act commences on the day on which it is assented to for and on behalf of Her Majesty. (2) Section 6 commences on a day to be appointed by Proclamation. 3. Duration . This Act remains in force for a period of one year from the day on which it is assented to for and on behalf of Her Majesty. 4. Interpretation . In this Act- "Council" means the body corporate constituted under the Primary Producers' Organisation and Marketing Act 1926- 1989 by the name Queensland Pork Producers' State Council; "fund" means The Swine Compensation Fund established and kept under the Swine Compensation Fund Act 1962-1975; "Treasurer" means the Treasurer of the State and includes a Minister of the Crown who is temporarily performing the duties of the Treasurer. 5. Closure of fund. (1) The Treasurer is hereby authorized to close the fund. (2) Upon closure of the fund, the Treasurer is to cause the balance of moneys then standing to the credit of the fund to be paid to the Council. (3) When payment is made in compliance with subsection (2), the moneys so paid are divested from the Crown and are vested in the Council to be used by it for whatever purposes it sees fit in the promotion of its objects. 6. Repeals.
