SWINE COMPENSATION

(AMENDMENT) ACT.

Act No. 10, 1935.

An Act to amend the Swine Compensation Act, 1928, in certain respects; and for purposes connected therewith. [Assented to, 6th March, 1935.]

"Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of

the same, as follows :—

1 . (1) This Act may be cited as the " Swine Com-

pensation (Amendment) Act, 1935."
(2) The Swine Compensation Act, 1928, as amended by this Act, may be cited as the Swine Compensation Act, 1928-1935.

(3) This Act shall commence on the first day of

2 .     (1) The Swine Compensat ion Act, 1928, is amended

as fol lows:—

(a)	(i)	by omitting from subsection one of sec­ t ion th i r teen the words " of every p ig s laughtered a t such aba t to i r " and by inser t ­ ing in lieu thereof the words ' ' and to make there in the prescr ibed entr ies in respect of every p ig delivered to such aba t to i r for
s laughter " ;
(ii)	by inserting at the end of the same subsec­ t ion the words " Such entr ies shall be m a d e within fourteen days af ter the del ivery of the pig " ;

(iii)  by omitting from subsection two of the same section the words " The owner of every p ig to be s laughtered a t an aba t to i r or the agent of such owner " and by in se r t i ng in lieu thereof the words " Wi th in fourteen days af ter the del ivery of a p ig a t a n aba t to i r for s laughter the person on whose behalf the p ig is so delivered ' ' ;

(iv)   by omitting from the same subsection the words " to be so s laughtered " and by in­ ser t ing in lieu thereof the words " so

delivered " ;

(v)   by omitting subsection three of the same sect ion;

(b)	by inserting after section sixteen the following new section:—
16A. I n any prosecut ion or other legal p ro ­ ceedings unde r this or any other Act or unde r

a n y regula t ions made thereunder , the record

requ i red to be kept a t an aba t to i r in pu r suance of this Act, and all entr ies p u r p o r t i n g to be made therein, shall, by the product ion thereof alone, be p r i m a facie evidence of the facts and m a t t e r s recorded therein.

(2) The Swine Compensat ion Act, 1928, is fu r the r

amended—

(a) by inser t ing in s u b p a r a g r a p h (i) of p a r a g r a p h (c) of subsection four of section eight af ter the figures " 1928 " the words and figures " or the Swine Compensat ion Taxa t ion Act, 1935 " ;

(b)

(b) by omitting section ten;

(c) (i) by inserting in paragraph (a) of subsection two of section twelve after the figures " 1928 " the words and figures " or the Swine Compensation Taxation Act, 1935 " ;

(ii)  by inserting in paragraph (b) of the same subsection after the figures " 1920 " the symbol and figures " -1933 " ;

(iii)  by inserting in the same paragraph after the figures " 1928 " the words and figures " or the Swine Compensation Taxation Act,

1935 " ;

(d) (i) by inserting in subsection two of section thirteen after the figures ' ' 1928 ' ' the words and figures " or the Swine Compensation Taxation Act, 1935 " ;

(ii)  by inserting in the same subsection after the figures " 1920 " the symbol and figures

(c) (i) by inserting in section fourteen after the figures " 1928 " wherever occurring the words and figures " or the Swine Com- pensation Taxation Act, 1935 " ;

(ii)  by inserting in subsection four of the same section after the figures " 1920 " the symbol and figures " -1933 " ;

(f) by inserting in section fifteen after the figures " 1920 " the symbol and figures " -1933."
