MS R.M. McCULLOCH: If it please the Court, I appear for the plaintiff. (instructed by Pikes Lawyers)
MR S.J. FREE: May it please the Court, I appear for the defendant. (instructed by Australian Government Solicitor)
HER HONOUR: Ms McCulloch, what is left in this at the moment?
MS McCULLOCH: Very little. The parties are very close to resolving the matter, your Honour.
HER HONOUR: I see.
MS McCULLOCH: So all we are asking for this morning is that the matter be adjourned for about a month, according to the Court’s convenience. We expect that a notice of discontinuance will be filed in the meantime.
HER HONOUR: I see, yes. Mr Free, I take it you have nothing to add.
MR FREE: No, your Honour, we agree with that proposal.
HER HONOUR: Yes, very well. Do the parties have a proposed date that the matter might be stood over to?
MS McCULLOCH: Any day in the week of 16 August would suit.
MR FREE: That is suitable, your Honour.
HER HONOUR: Tuesday, 17 August.
MR FREE: If the Court pleases.
HER HONOUR: Very well. I will, on the parties’ application, stand the proceedings over for further directions to Tuesday, 17 August next at 9.30 am.
MR FREE: If it please the Court.
HER HONOUR: There is nothing further?
MR FREE: No, your Honour.
MS McCULLOCH: No, your Honour.
HER HONOUR: I will adjourn.
AT 9.40 AM THE MATTER WAS CONCLUDED
