2;57 ANNO VICESIMO SEPTIMO ELIZABETHAE SECUNDAE REGINAE No. 33 of 1978 An Act to amend the SurveyorsAct 1977 in certain particulars [ASSENTED TO 8TH JUNE, 1978] BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- 1. Short title and citation . (1) This Act may be cited as the Surveyors Act Amendment Act 1978. (2) In this Act the Surveyors Act1977 is referred to as the Principal Act. (3) The Principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Surveyors Act1977-1978. 2. Commencement . This Act shall be deemed to have commenced on 29th April, 1978 and shall have retrospective effect accordingly.
268 Surveyors Act Amendment Act 1978, No. 33 3. Amendment of s. 77. Section 77 of the Principal Act is amended by- (a) in subsection (1) inserting after paragraph (f) the following paragraph :- " (fa) the powers of the Board with respect to securing compliance with the regulations including, but without limiting the generality of this provision, the issue by the Board of directions to surveyors in relation to the performance of surveys and the achievement of the prescribed standards of accuracy; "; (b) repealing subsection (2) and substituting the following subsection:- ( 2) The regulations may- (a) adopt, wholly or in part and either by way of reference or by way of express specification therein, any of the standard rules, codes, or specifications of the bodies known as the Standards Association of Australia, the British Standards Institution, the National Mapping Council of Australia or a like body identified in the regulations; (b) provide for the approval of the Board or of the Surveyor- General to be the standard to be applicable in respect of a particular matter.".
