Surveyors (Practice) Amendment New South Wales

(Co-ordinate System) Regulation 2000

under the

Surveyors Act 1929

His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Surveyors Act 1929.

Kim Yeadon

Minister for Information Technology

Explanatory note

At present, clause 30 of the Surveyors (Practice) Regulation 1996 requires the orientation of a survey to be adopted (in certain cases) from Integrated Survey Grid (ISG) co-ordinates of 2 established permanent marks. ISG is defined in the Regulation.

The object of this Regulation is to amend that requirement so as to require, instead, the use of Map Grid of Australia (MGA) co-ordinates. This Regulation also makes amendments consequential on that amendment.

This Regulation is made under the Surveyors Act 1929, and, in particular, under section 23 (the general regulation-making power).
