Surveyors (General) Amendment

(Fees) Regulation 1999*

Surveyors Act 1929

His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Surveyors Act 1929.

Explanatory note

The objects of this Regulation are:

(a) to increase from $275 to $360 the annual roll fee for surveyors, and
(b) to increase from $100 to $200 the fee for sitting certain examinations assessing the competency of a person applying to be registered as a surveyor.

This Regulation is made under the Surveyors Act 1929, including sections 10 and 23 (the general regulation-making power).

* The regulation (statutory rule) appointed 31 May 1999 as the date of its commencement.

Pursuant to section 39 (2A) of the Interpretation Act 1987, the regulation is not invalid merely because the regulation was published in the Gazette after the day on which one or more of its provisions is or are expressed to take effect, but provides, in that case, for that or those provisions to take effect from the day on which it is published in the Gazette, instead of from the earlier day.

1 Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Surveyors (General) Amendment (Fees)

Regulation 1999.

2 Commencement

This Regulation commences on 31 May 1999.

3 Amendment of Surveyors (General) Regulation 1994

The Surveyors (General) Regulation 1994 is amended as set out in Schedule 1.

4 Notes

The explanatory note does not form part of this Regulation.

Schedule 1 Amendments

(Clause 2)

  1. Clause 17 Application to sit for prescribed examination

    Omit clause 17 (2). Insert instead:

The prescribed fee for a practical test and for each of the items of an oral test referred to in clause 14 (a)–(e) is $200 (but to a maximum total of $800).

Omit ‘‘$275’’. Insert instead ‘‘$360’’.
