SURVEYORS ACT 1929—REGULATION

(Relating to fees and issue of emeritus certificates)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Surveyors Act 1929, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Surveyors (General) Regulation 1982 is amended:
by omitting from clause 8 (2) (c) the matter “$30” and by
inserting instead the matter “$60”;
by omitting from clause 17 (b) (iii) the matter “$50” and by
inserting instead the matter “$100”;
by omitting from clause 24 (b) ( i i ) the word “characters” and by
inserting instead the word “character”;
by omitting from item 1 in the Table to clause 25 the matter
“$25” and by inserting instead the matter “$60”;
by omitting from item 2 in the Table to clause 25 the matter
“$30” and by inserting instead the matter “$60”;

by omitting from clause 37 the matter “$100” and by inserting

by omitting from clause 26 the matter “$25” and by inserting
instead the matter “$60”;
by omitting from clause 27 the matter “$30” and by inserting

instead the matter “$60”;

instead the matter “$150”;

(i) by inserting after clause 38 the following clause: Emeritus surveyors—certificates of recognition

39. (1) The Board may issue a certificate to a retired surveyor
whose name has been removed from the register after long service
as a surveyor in recognition of the contribution made by the

re tired surveyor.

(2) The Board may charge a fee not exceeding $50 for the issue

of such a certificate.

(3) Such a certificate does not entitle the holder to practise as a

surveyor.

(4) Nothing in this clause prevents the name of the holder of such a certificate from being restored to the register in accordance with the Act.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Regulation is to amend the Surveyors (General) Regulation

1982 to increase certain fees, to correct a typographical error and to provide for the issue of certificates in recognition of the contributions made by retired registered

surveyors.

The fees dealt with in the Regulation include:

(a) the fee for enrolling as a candidate in a course of studies leading to a

recognised qualification in surveying; and

(b) the fee for sitting for the prescribed examination; and

(c) the application fees for registration as a surveyor, for certificates of

registration and for letters of accreditation; and

(d) the fee for the restoration of a name to the register of surveyors.

Apart from recent increases in the annual roll fee (not the subject of this
Regulation), the last increase in the fees the subject of this Regulation was in 1986.
