SURVEYORS ACT 1929—REGULATION

(Relating to annual roll fees for candidates and registered surveyors and fees for

examinations)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Surveyors Act 1929, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Commencement

1. This Regulation commences on 1 July 1994.

Amendments

2. The Surveyors (General) Regulation 1982 is amended:

(a) by inserting after clause 8 the following clause: Annual enrolment fee

8A. (1) A person enrolled as a candidate must before or in the month of July in each year pay to the Registrar an annual enrolment fee of $60.

(2) If a person enrolled as a candidate fails to pay the annual enrolment fee before or in the month of July in any year, the Board may remove the candidate’s name from the roll of candidates.

(b)

by omitting from clause 17 (b) (ii) the words “a fee of $100” and by inserting instead the words “the fee prescribed by subclause (2)”;

(c) by inserting at the end of clause 17 the following subclause:

(2) The prescribed fee for each practical test and each of the

items referred to in clause 14 (a) to (e) inclusive of an oral test is:

(a)

$50 (but to a maximum total of $200) for a prescribed examination held before 31 December 1994; or

(b)

$100 (but to a maximum total of $400) for a prescribed examination held after that date.

(d)

by omitting from clause 36 the matter “$220” and by inserting instead the matter “$250”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Regulation is:

to make provision for an annual enrolment fee of $60 for candidates for
registration as surveyors; and
to make provision for separate fees for the practical test and the 5 oral test
components with a cap on the maximum total examination fee payable ($50 for
each test to a maximum of $200 for an examination session attempted before
31 December 1994 and $100 for each test to a maximum of $400 for an
examination session attempted after that date) in place of a single examination
fee of $100; and

to increase the annual roll fee for registration as a surveyor from $220 to $250.

This Regulation is made under the Surveyors Act 1929, including sections 10 (4) and

23 (the general regulation making power).
