under the
Survey Co-ordination Act 1949
His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Survey Co-ordination Act 1949.
Kim Yeadon
Minister for Information Technology
Explanatory note
Section 5 of the Survey Co-ordination Act 1949 (the Act) requires a public authority (as defined in the Act) to give the Surveyor-General notice “in or to the effect of the prescribed form” of the authority's intention to commence certain surveys. The prescribed form is Form 1 in Schedule 1 to the Survey Co- ordination Regulation 1998. That Form provides for a choice of co-ordinate systems under which the survey may be carried out.
The object of this Regulation is to amend Form 1 of Schedule 1 to the Survey Co-ordination Regulation 1998 so as to remove 2 of the choices currently available.
This Regulation is made under the Survey Co-ordination Act 1949, and, in particular, under section 22 (the general regulation-making power).
