Act No. 54, 1984.

An Act to amend section 124 of the Supreme Court Act, 1970, as a

consequence of the enactment of the Legal Practitioners (Solicitors’

Remuneration) Amendment Act, 1984. [Assented to, 19th June, 1984.]

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent .Majesty, by anJ with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legi.slative Assembly of .New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: —

Short title.

1.          This Act may be cited a.s the “Supreme Court t Solicitors’

Remuneration; Amendment Act, 1984”.

2.     (1) Section.s 1 and 2 shall commence on the date of assent to this Act.

(2) Except a.s provided by subsection f 1 J, this Act shall commence on the day appointed and notified under section 2 (2) of the Legal Practitioners ("Solicitors' Remuneration) Amendment Act. 1984.

Amendment of Act No. 52, 1970.

3. The Supreme Court Act, 1970, is amended by inserting after section

124 Cl) fk) the following paragraph: —

fka) for regulating the application of scales or other amounts of costs fixed by determinations under section 20j (2) of the Legal Practitioners Act, 1898, to—

fi) the taxation or other ascertainment of costs payable by a

party to another party in proceedings in the Court; or

fii) any other taxation or other ascertainment of costs under

the inherent jurisdiction of the Court or under any Act;
