An Act for transferring to the Eegistrar General

the duties of the Chief Clerk of the Supreme

Court as Registrar of Deeds and other Instru­

ments.

Preamble.

X’TT IIE E .E A S it is expedient to transfer to the General Registry

for New South W ales all Instrum ents heretofore registered

recorded or deposited in the Registry Office attached to the Supreme Court and to vest in the R egistrar General the custody thereof and the registration recording and depositing of like Instrum ents in future Be it therefore enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty by and w ith the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South W ales iu Parliam ent assembled and by the authority of the same as follows :—

1. Upon a day to be fixed by the Governor of which fourteen

I t shall be lawful for the Registrar General w ith the sanction

may appoint a

of the Governor to appoint a Deputy or Deputies whose acts w ith respect to all the duties aforesaid shall have the same force and effect as if done by the R egistrar General.

Oommissioners of4. Every Commissioner of the Supreme Court for tak ing affidavits fckuow\edgeme*rtŝ (i^ot residing wuthin five miles of the City of Sydney) shall have power

&c.to take acknowledgments of m arried women and others and verifica­

tions of copies of Deeds and other Instrum ents requiring verification and may receive to his own use the fees now by law payable in tha t behalf.
