[ASSENTED TO 24TH DECEMBER, 1930.] B E it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- Short title. 1. This Act may be cited as "The Supreme Court (Commonwealth Payment to Judges) Validation Act of 1930," and shall be read as one with the Supreme Court Acts. Interpreta- 2. In this Act unless the context otherwise indicates tion. the following terms have the meanings respectively assigned to them, that is to say:- JUdges. " Judges"-The Judges of the Supreme Court, in office at the passing of this Act, or any Judge or Judges of the Supreme Court to be hereafter appointed;

Notwithstanding anything to the contrary con- M0Il:eys tained in the Constitution Acts or in the Supreme Court ~~~ elVed by Acts or in any other Act, it is hereby declared that all Government moneys from time to time now or hereafter received by Q~ eensland the Government of Queensland from the Government of from the the Commonwealth, in respect of the services rendered or ~ o: ~ ~nment to be rendered by the Judges in Federal Bankruptcy or Commo~ . other Federal jurisdiction, shall be paid by the Treasurer : ~ ~ ~ ~ l~ to the said Judges in equal shares and proportions; and services.of it is hereby declared that it shall be lawful for the said ~~~!:=lm Judges to accept such moneys from the Treasurer, and Bankruptcy the acceptance of such moneys by the said Judges is ~ : ~ ! ~ : [ hereby approved, ratified, and validated accordingly: Jurisdic~ion to be paId to Provided further it is hereby decla,red that it shall Judges. be lawful for the Government of the Commonwealth to pay any sueh moneys in respect of the services rendered or to be rendered by the said Judges as aforesaid direct to the said Judges in equal shares and proportions, and the aceeptance of such moneys by the said Judges from the Government of the Commonwealth is also hereby approved, ratified, and validated accordingly. 4. This Act shall be deemed to take effect as from Retrospec. the first day of January, one thousand nine hundred and tivity. thirty, and to that extent shaH have retrospective operation, and also to the intent that any such payment as aforesaid which has been made to any of such Judges prior to the passing of this Act is hereby approved, ratified, and validated accordingly. * 31 Vic.
