Supreme Court (Chapter VI Amendment No. 8)
Rules 1996
The Judges of the Supreme Court make the following Rules:
1. Object
The object of these Rules is to amend Form 7B to the Principal Rules.
2. Authorising provisions
These Rules are made under section 25 of the powers.
3. Commencement
These Rules come into operation on 1 July 1996.
4. Principal Rules
In these Rules, the Criminal Appeals and
Procedures Rules 19881 are called the Principal
Rules.
5. Amendment to Form 7B
In Form 7B to the Principal Rules for "that an
offence *has been/*is about to be/*is likely to be
committed—" substitute—
"that—
(a)
an offence *has been/*is about to be/*is likely to be committed; and

(b) that for the purpose of —
* an investigation of that offence,
* enabling evidence to be obtained of
the commission of that offence,
* enabling evidence to be obtained of
the identity of the offender,
the use of a listening device is necessary—".
