Supreme Court (Chapter VI Amendment No. 10)

Rules 1997

The Judges of the Supreme Court make the following Rules:

1. Object

The object of these Rules is to provide that two the Court of Appeal to grant bail and to make minor amendments to Forms 4D and 9A to the Principal Rules.

2. Authorising provisions

These Rules are made under sections 11(1B) and 25 of the Supreme Court Act 1986 and all other enabling powers.

3. Principal Rules

In these Rules, the Criminal Appeals and
Procedures Rules 19881 are called the Principal

Rules.

4. New Rule 2.29(3) inserted

After Rule 2.29(2) of the Principal Rules insert—

"(3) Two Judges of Appeal may exercise the

jurisdiction of the Court of Appeal to grant
bail.".

5. Amendment to Form 4D

In Form 4D to the Principal Rules for "the Victoria Legal Aid" (wherever occurring) substitute "Victoria Legal Aid".

6. Amendment to Form 9A

In Form 9A to the Principal Rules for "register of births kept under section 41 of the Registration of Births Deaths and Marriages Act 1959" substitute "Register maintained under Part 7 of the Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Act 1996".
