Rules 2002

The Judges of the Supreme Court make the following Rules:

1. Object

The object of these Rules is to expand the class of persons authorised by the Principal Rules to make an affidavit of searches.

2. Authorising provisions

These Rules are made under section 25 of the Supreme Court Act 1986, the Administration and Probate Act 1958 and all other enabling powers.

3. Principal Rules

In these Rules, the Supreme Court
(Administration and Probate) Rules 19941 are

called the Principal Rules.

4. Affidavit of searches

In Rule 2.05(2) of the Principal Rules, for paragraph (b) substitute—

"(b) a solicitor who has instructions to conduct

the searches referred to in paragraph (1); or".
