Rules 1998

The Judges of the Supreme Court make the following Rules:

1. Object

The object of these Rules is to make minor amendments to the Principal Rules.

2. Authorising provisions

These Rules are made under section 25 of the powers.

3. Principal Rules

In these Rules, the General Rules of Procedure in
Civil Proceedings 19961 are called the Principal

Rules.

4. Rule 71.01 definitions

In Rule 71.01(1) of the Principal Rules—

(a) insert the following definition—
' "co-operative" means a body registered

or deemed to be registered under the co-operative;';

(b)

in the definition of "society" omit "and a society registered under Part III of the Co-operation Act 1981".

5. Reference to co-operative inserted

(1) In Rule 71.03(1) of the Principal Rules for "in a bank or in a society" substitute "in a bank, co- operative or society".

(2) In Rule 71.03(2) of the Principal Rules for "in a bank or in a society" substitute "in a bank, co- operative or society".

6. Rule 73.01 definition

In Rule 73.01 of the Principal Rules, in the definition of "corporation", for "society registered under Part III of the Co-operation Act 1981" substitute "body registered or deemed to be registered under the Co-operatives Act 1996 as a co-operative".

7. Amendment of Form 42F

In Form 42F to the Principal Rules, in note 2 of the Further Notes, for "If you have any objection to producing the documents or to their being inspected by any one or more of the parties to the proceeding" substitute "If you object to the documents being inspected by another party to the proceeding".

8.  Statute law revision—Children and Young Persons Act 1989

(1) In Rule 58.17 of the Principal Rules for "section

79" substitute "section 80B".

(2) In Form 58A to the Principal Rules for "section 79" (where twice occurring) substitute "section 80B".
