E it enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, B by and with the advice and consent of the Legis­ lative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:— 1. (1.) This Act may be cited as The Supreme short title Court Acts Amendment Act of 1953,” and shall be read as contraction, one with *“ The Supreme Court Acts, 1861 to 1952.” ' The Supreme Court Acts, 1861 to 1952,” and this Collective Act may be collectively cited as The Supreme Court titl0. Acts, 1861 to 1953.” (2.) This Act shall be deemed to have come into Commence- force on and from the first day of July, one thousand ment* nine hundred and fifty-three, and shall operate retrospectively accordingly. 2. (1.) Subject to subsection two of this Section Salaries of (а) The salary of the Chief Justice of Queensland th<f Supreme shall be at the rate of three thousand nineCourt- hundred and fifty pounds per annual; and (б) The salaries ofthe Puisne Judges of thje Supreme Court shall be at the rate of three thousand five hundred and fifty pounds per annum. (2.) The rates for the time being of the salaries respectively of the Chief Justice of Queensland and of the Puisne Judges of the Supreme Court shall, as on and from the first day of July of each and every year, commencing with the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and fifty-four, be increased or, as the case may be, decreased by the amount calculated on an annual basis to the nearest pound by which the basic wage for males declared by the Industrial Court under f“ The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Acts, 1932 to 1953,” shall have been increased or decreased during the preceding period of twelve months. 3. t“ The Supreme Court Acts Amendment Act of Repeal of 1950 ” is repealed.
