B E it enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis­ lative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:— 1. This Act may be cited as “ The Supreme Court ^rJ0t^tle Acts Amendment Act of 1952,” and shall be read as one struction. with *“ The Supreme Court Acts, 1861 to 1950,” herein referred to as the Principal Act. The Principal Act and this Act may be collectively Collective cited as “ The Supreme Court Acts, 1861 to 1952.” 1 e* 2. On and after the passing of this Act the number Number of of the Judges of the Supreme Court of Queensland shall ofth”dge8 not exceed eleven and, at any time when the total Supreme number in office of the Judges is less than eleven, it shallCourt- be lawful for the Governor in Council by commission in Her Majesty’s name to appoint a duly qualified person to be a Judge : Provided that the Governor in Council— (a) Shall not be bound to make, either upon the passing of this Act or at any time thereafter, an appointment or appointments as aforesaid increasing the number in office for the time being of the Judges ; and (b) Shall not make any such appointment or appointments increasing to more than eleven the number in office for the time being of the Judges. 3. Subsection six of section four of f“ The Supreme Amendment Court Act of 1921,” is amended by repealing the word °2 Geo! v°f “ nine ” where that word twice appears therein, and by No. 15 . inserting, in lieu of that repealed word, the word “ eleven ”. * 25 V.
