465 ANNO VICESIMO SECUNDO ELIZABETHAE SECUND A E R EGI N AE No. 5ft o1 9 "6 3 Court Act of 1867 as certain particulars [ASSENTED ro 22ND OCTOBER, 1973] BE IT ENACTED by the Queen ' s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled , and by the authority of the same. as follows:-- 1. Short title and citation. ( 1) This Act may be cited as the Supreme Court Act Amendment Act 1973. (2) The Supreme Court Act of 1867 as subsequently amended is in this Act referred to as the Principal Act. (3) The Principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Supreme Court Act 1867--1973. 2. New heading and section 38A. The Principal Act is amended by inserting after section 38 the following heading and section:-- "Appearances 38 , to be in person or by barrister or solicitor or perss 4 by the Judge. In all matters and proceedings in the ;;apL .sae Court a party may appear in person or by a barrister or solicitor or by any person allowed by special leave of the Judge in any case.
466 Supreme Court Act Amendment Act 1973, No. 50 A person who is not a barrister or solicitor of the Supreme Court shall not be entitled to claim or recover or receive directly or indirectly a sum of money or other remuneration for appearing or acting on behalf of another person in the Supreme Court. In this section, " party " includes a person served with notice of or attending a matter or proceeding although not named in the record.".
