SUPPLY ACT.

Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, WH E R E A S Ave Your Majesty's most dutiful and loyal subjects, the Members of the Legislative

have resolved to grant to Your Majesty the sum of Three millions nine hundred and forty-two thousand eight hundred and fifty pounds, that is to say—

Out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund, the sum of
One million and ninety-one thousand pounds,

being the sum required to defray the expenses

of the various Departments and Services of the State during the months of July and August, or following month of the financial year ending thirtieth day of June, one thousand nine hun­ dred and seventeen ; and the sum of One million six hundred and twenty-eight thousand pounds for the Services set forth in Schedule A hereto annexed.

Out of the Public Works Fund, the sum of One hundred thousand six hundred pounds for the Services set forth in Schedule B hereto annexed.

Out of the General Loan Account, the sum of One million one hundred and twenty-three thousand two hundred and fifty pounds for the Services set forth in Schedule C hereto annexed :

And whereas we desire to make good out of the said Funds and the General Loan Account the sum so granted to His Majesty : Be it therefore enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :—

1. Out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund of New South Wales there shall and may be issued and applied for or towards making good the Supply so resolved to be granted to His Majesty, the sum of Two millions seven hundred and nineteen thousand pounds, of which the sum of One million and ninety-one thousand pounds is to

the financial year ended thirtieth day of June, one be expended at the rates which have been sanctioned for

thousand nine hundred and sixteen, to defray the expenses of the various Departments and Services of the State during the months of July and August, or following month of the financial year ending thirtieth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, subject to the rate of any reduction that may hereafter be made in the expenditure of the year 1916-1917; and the sum of One million six hundred and twenty-eight thousand pounds is to be expended for the Services specified in Schedule A hereto annexed.

2 . Out of the Public Works Fund there shall and may he issued and applied for or towards making good the Supply so resolved to be granted to His Majesty the sum of One hundred thousand six hundred pounds for the Services specified in Schedule B hereto annexed.

3 . Notwithstanding the provisions of the Audit Act, 1902, there shall and may be issued out of the General Loan Account and applied for or towards making good the Supply so resolved to be granted to His Majesty, the sum of One million one hundred and twenty-three thousand two hundred and fifty pounds for the Services specified in Schedule C hereto annexed.

4 . The Treasurer shall issue and pay the said sums for the Services aforesaid in such maimer and in such proportions as the Governor, by Warrants or Orders in writing under his hand, and directed to the said Treasurer, shall from time to time order and direct. And the payments so to be made shall be charged upon and paid out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund and the Public Works Fund and the General Loan Account respectively.

5 . The Treasurer shall in his accounts from time to time be allowed credit for all sums of money paid by him in pursuance of such Warrants or Orders. And the receipts of the respective persons to whom the same shall be so paid shall be full and valid discharges to the said Treasurer in passing his said accounts for such sums as shall be therein mentioned, and he shall receive credit for the same accordingly.

6. This Act may be cited as the "Supply Act,
