s1 3 s6 Superannuation (State Public Sector) Amendment No. 300, 2001 Notice (No. 3) 2001 1 Short title This notice may be cited as the Superannuation (State Public Sector) Amendment Notice (No. 3) 2001 . 2 Commencement This notice commences on 1 January 2002. 3 Notice amended This notice amends the Superannuation (State Public Sector) Notice 2000. 4 Amendment of s 3 (Definitions) (1) Section 3, definition “accumulation category”— omit. (2) Section 3— insert— ‘ “Queensland Ambulance Service” means the Queensland Ambulance Service established under the Ambulance Service Act 1991 .’. 5 Amendment of s 5 (Standard compulsory rate for certain members) Section 5(1), ‘or comprehensive accumulation category’— omit, insert— ‘, comprehensive accumulation category or QAS accumulation category’. 6 Amendment of s 6 (Insurance) (1) Section 6(1), ‘an accumulation category’— omit, insert— ‘the basic accumulation, comprehensive accumulation or QAS accumulation category’.
s7 4 s9 Superannuation (State Public Sector) Amendment No. 300, 2001 Notice (No. 3) 2001 (2) Section 6(1)(a), after ‘category’— insert— ‘or QAS accumulation category’. (3) Section 6(2)— omit, insert— ‘ (2) In this section— “prescribed insurance” means— (a) for a non-casual employee whose membership is in the QAS accumulation category—long-term salary protection insurance and insurance in case of death; or (b) for another non-casual employee—income protection insurance and insurance in case of death or total and permanent disablement; or (c) for a casual employee whose membership is in the QAS accumulation category—insurance in case of death; or (d) for another casual employee—insurance in case of death or total and permanent disablement.’. 7 Amendment of s 7 (Eligibility generally) Section 7(3), ‘8, 9 and 14’— omit, insert— ‘8 to 9A and 14’. 8 Amendment of s 9 (Other restrictions for eligibility in standard defined benefit category) Section 9(2), ‘an accumulation category’— omit, insert— ‘the basic accumulation or comprehensive accumulation category’. 9 Insertion of new s 9A After section 9—
s 10 5 s 12 Superannuation (State Public Sector) Amendment No. 300, 2001 Notice (No. 3) 2001 insert— ‘9A Restriction for eligibility in QAS accumulation category ‘If a member in the QAS accumulation category becomes a member in another category, the member is ineligible for membership in the QAS accumulation category.’. 10 Amendment of s 10A (Eligibility of members of eligible scheme known as Q N Invest Retirement Fund) Section 10A, heading— omit, insert— ‘10A Eligibility—Q N Invest Retirement Fund members’. 11 Amendment of s 10B (Eligibility of members of eligible scheme established under the Parliamentary ContributorySuperannuation Act 1970) Section 10B, heading— omit, insert— ‘10B Eligibility—members of scheme established under ParliamentaryContributory Superannuation Act’. 12 Insertion of new s 10C After section 10B— insert— ‘10C Eligibility—particular members of Queensland Ambulance Service Superannuation Scheme ‘ (1) This section applies to a person who, immediately before 1 January 2002— (a) was a member of the eligible scheme known as the Queensland Ambulance Service Superannuation Scheme; and (b) was not an employee of the Queensland Ambulance Service. ‘ (2) The person is eligible for membership of the scheme established under the Act on ceasing to be a member of the eligible scheme.
s 13 6 s 16 Superannuation (State Public Sector) Amendment No. 300, 2001 Notice (No. 3) 2001 ‘ (3) The person’s membership of the scheme is discretionary. ‘ (4) The person is eligible for membership in the basic accumulation category.’. 13 Amendment of s 14 (Excepted persons) (1) Section 14(1)(a)— omit. (2) Section 14(1)(b) to (j)— renumber as section 14(1)(a) to (i). (3) Section 14(2), ‘subsection (1)(c) or (d)’— omit, insert— ‘subsection (1)(b) or (c)’. 14 Amendment of pt 4, div 2 hdg Part 4, division 2, heading, ‘ provisions ’— omit, insert— ‘ provision ’. 15 Omission of s 15 (Transitional—transfer from standard defined benefit category) Section 15— omit. 16 Amendment of schedule (Eligibility for membership) (1) Schedule, notes, item 2, after entry for “CAC”— insert— ‘ “QASAC” stands for QAS accumulation category.’. (2) Schedule, entry for ‘Queensland Ambulance Service’— omit, insert—
