AN ACT to amend the Superannuation, Sick, Death, Insurance, Guarantee and Endowment (Local Governing Bodies' Employees) Funds Act, 1947- 1950.

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

(2) In this Act the Superannuation, Sick, Death, Insurance, Guarantee and Endowment (Local Governing Bodies' Employees) Funds Act, 1947-1950 is referred to as the principal Act.
The principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Superannuation, Sick, Death, Insurance, Guarantee and Endowment (Local Governing Bodies' Employees) Funds Act, 1947-1975.

Section 2 of the principal Act is amended by adding after the passage "Parks and Reserves Act, 1895-1947" the passage "and the Road Traffic Authority constituted under the Road Traffic Act, 1974,".

| (a) | a person may be regarded as an employee of the Road Traffic Authority for the purposes of this Act if, and only if that person- |
(i) has been appointed a warden under the Road Traffic Act, 1974, has been appointed under the Public Service Act, 1904 to an office within the Authority, or has been appointed a member of the Police Force for service with the Traffic Patrol, and has elec- ted within three months of his appointment to subscribe to a scheme established and operated by the Road Traffic Authority under this Act;
(ii) was, prior to his appointment as a warden; officer of the Public Service or member of the Police Force, employed by the Council

of a municipality as a traffic inspector or in another office having duties associated with the licensing of vehicles or the regulation of traffic and was when so employed a subscriber to a scheme operated under this Act; and
(iii) is not eligible, on medical grounds, to become a contributor under the Superannuation and Family Benefits Act, 1938, or will be unable to attain ten years' service for the purposes of that Act;
| (b) | the reference in subparagraph (i) of paragraph (b) of section three of this Act to the "ordinary revenue of the corporation" shall, in its application to the Road Traffic Authority, be read as a reference to the funds provided by Parliament to the Authority; and |
| (c) | the Audit Act, 1904 shall, for the purposes of section five of this Act, be deemed to be the Act regulating the keeping and audit of the accounts of the Authority. |
(2) A person who makes an effective election under paragraph (a) of subsection (1) of this section is not entitled to contribute under the Superannuation and Family Benefits Act,
1938. .
