Superannuation (Salary) Regulations2

(Amendment)

I, T H E G O V E R N O R - G E N E R A L of the Commonweal th of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make

the following Regulation under the Superannuation

Act 1976.

Annual rate of salary of certain redeployed eligible employees etc.

Regulation 2 0 of the Superannua t ion (Salary) Regulat ions is

amended:

(a) by adding at the end of subparagraph (3) (a) (i) "or";

(b)

by adding at the end of paragraph (3) (a) the following subparagraph:

"(iv) is appoin ted to the office of Adminis trator of the Terri tory of Norfolk Island and the salary payable in respect of that office is less than the salary payable to him or her immedia te ly before the appoin tment; or";

(c)

by omitting subregulation (4) and substituting the following subregulation:

"(4) If an eligible employee becomes an eligible employee to whom this regulation applies, then, subject to subregulation (7), the employee cont inues to be an eligible employee to w h o m this regulation applies unti l:

(a)

in the case of an eligible employee referred to in subparagraph (3) (a) ( iv)—the salary payable to the eligible employee ceases to be lower than the salary

payable to an officer whose classification is the same as the classification of the eligible employee immediately before the relevant day; or

(b)

in any other case—the eligible employee ceases to be an

officer having a classification that is lower than his or her classification on the day immediately before the relevant day in relation to the eligible employee.".
