Superannuation (Resolution of Complaints) Regulations 2(Amendment)

I, The Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Superannuation (Resolution of Complaints) Act 1993.

1.   Amendment

1.1   The Superannuation (Resolution of Complaints) Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.

[NOTE: These Regulations commence on gazettal: see Acts Interpretation Act 1901, s. 48.]

2.   Regulation 5 (Complaints relating to payment of benefits)

2.1   Omit the regulation, substitute:

Payment of death benefits—period for objections and complaints

 “5. For the purposes of paragraph 14 (3) (b), subparagraph 15 (2) (a) (ii), paragraph 15B (2) (b) and subparagraph 15C(2) (a) (ii) of the Act, the prescribed period is 28 days.”.

3. New

regulation 6 and Schedule

3.1   Add at the end:

Complaint-handling bodies

 “6.For the purposes of subsection 22A (1) of the Act, a body specified in the Schedule is prescribed.”.
