Superannuation (Public Employees Portability) Regulation 2008

1   Short title

This regulation may be cited as the Superannuation (Public Employees Portability) Regulation 2008.

2   Commencement

This regulation commences on 2 September 2008.

3   Approved superannuation schemes—Act, s 4(1)

For section 4(1) of the Act, definition approved superannuation scheme, paragraph (b), each superannuation scheme stated in the schedule is declared to be an approved superannuation scheme.

4   Prescribed matters for definition public employment—Act, s 4(1)

(1)For section 4(1) of the Act, definition public employment, paragraph (a), the following States and Territories are prescribed—

(a)Queensland;

(b)the Northern Territory.

(2)For section 4(1) of the Act, definition public employment, paragraph (b), the following authorities are prescribed—

(a)RESI Corporation established under the Electricity Corporations Act 1994 (SA);

(b)a local government;

(c)a State electricity entity within the meaning of the Electricity Act 1994;

(d)a university established under a law of a State or Territory.

Schedule Approved superannuation schemes

1Electricity Supply Industry Superannuation Fund (Qld) participated in under the Electricity Act 1994.

2Local Government Superannuation Scheme participated in under the Local Government Act 1993.
