Explanatory note
The object of this Regulation is to amend the Superannuation Administration (Local Government Superannuation Scheme Transitional Provisions) Regulation 1997 to transfer certain employees of local government organisations to the local government superannuation scheme and to make them, and their employers, subject to the transitional provisions contained in that regulation. This Regulation also makes a consequential amendment to a definition contained in the regulation.
This Regulation is made under the Superannuation Administration Administration Act 1996, including sections 127 and 129. Published in Gazette No 72 of 1 July 1997, page 5224 Page 1

1 Name of Regulation
This Regulation is the Superannuation Administration (Local Government Superannuation Scheme Transitional Provisions) Amendment Regulation 1997.

The Superannuation Administration (Local Government Superannuation Scheme Transitional Provisions) Regulation 1997 is amended as set out in Schedule 1.

(Clause 2)
[1] Clause 3 Definitions
Omit the definition of transfer day in clause 3. Insert instead:
transfer day means:
(a) except as provided by paragraphs (b) and (c), 1 July 1997, or (b) in relation to an employee referred to in clause 11 (l), the day the employee transfers to the county council referred to in clause 11 (2), or (c) in relation to a person who becomes a transferred member as a result of amendments made to this Regulation by the Superannuation Administration (Local Government Superannuation Scheme Transitional Provisions) Amendment Regulation
1997, 1 July 1997 or the day on which that
Regulation commences, whichever is the later.
