AN ACT to amend The Superannuation Aet.

[Assented to 10th January, 1948.]

BE it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty,by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Council and Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :—

Short title.

This Act may be cited as the Superannuation Act Amendment Act, 1947, and shall be read as one with The Superannuation Act (35 Victorim, No. 7 as amended by 49 Victories, No. 4 and No. 48 of 1937), hereinafter referred to as the principal Act.

(b) by adding after subsection (2) of section one

the following subsections :—

(3) From and after the commencement of the Superannuation Act Amendment Act, 1947, the rates per annum of superannua- tion allowance payable but for this subsec- tion and being rates of less than three hundred and sixty pounds per annum, shall be increased by

(a)

one quarter, if the superannuation allowance is at a rate of two hundred and eighty-eight pounds or less per annum, and

(b) such sum per annum as will increase that superannuation allowance to the rate of three hundred and sixty pounds per annum, if that superannuation allowance is at a rate of more than two hundred and eighty- eight pounds per annum.

(4) The increased rate per annum of superannuation allowance shall be computed to the nearest pound.
