SUPERANNUATION ACT 1916—ORDER

A. M. GLEESON,

By deputation from His Excellency the Governor.

I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels, AC. , Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 92 of the Superannuation Act 1916, do, by this my Order, amend Schedule 3 to the Act (List of Employers), with effect on and from 7 August 1996, by inserting at the end of Part 1 of that Schedule the following matter:

Hawkesbury District Health Service Limited

(limited to persons:

(a) who were, immediately before 7 August 1996, employees of the

Hawkesbury District Hospital, Windsor and contributors to the

State Superannuation Fund, and

(b) who, on that date, transferred their employment to Hawkesbury

District Health Service Limited and did not cease to be

contributors to that Fund.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

Under the Superannuation Act 1916 employers within the meaning of the Act are required to make superannuation contributions in respect of certain of their employees to the fund kept under that Act. Schedule 3 to the Act lists organisations and bodies that are employers for the purposes of the Act. Section 92 of the Act authorises the Governor-in-Council, by Order, 10 amend the Schedule.

Superannuation Act 1916—Order

The purpose of this Order is to include in the Schedule as an employer the Hawkesbury District Health Sevice Limited. However, the Act will apply only to those employees of the Hawkesbury District Hospital who were contributors to the State Superannuation Fund on 7 August 1996, the date on which the employment of those employees was transferred from Hawkesbury District Hospital to Hawkesbury District Health Service Limited.

The Order will be taken to have had effect on and from 7 August 1996. (Section 92 (2) of the Act authorises an Order to be made so that it has effect on and from a date that is earlier than the date of its publication.)
