SUPERANNUATION ACT 1916—ORDER

NEW SOUTH WALES

I, Rear Admiral PETER ROSS SINCLAIR, A.C., Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 92 of the Superannuation Act 1916, do, by this my Order, amend Schedule 3 to that Act (List of Employers), to take effect on and from 1 March 1993, by inserting at the end of Part 1 of that Schedule the following name and limitation:

Public Transport Union NSW Branch (limited to existing employees of the Public Transport Union NSW Branch who were contributors to the Fund as at 1 March 1993, and employees who become employees on or after 1 March 1993 and who are contributors to the Fund immediately before becoming employees)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

Under the Superannuation Act 1916 employers within the meaning of the Act are required to make superannuation contributions to the State Superannuation Fund in respect of certain of their employees. Schedule 3 to the Act lists organisations and bodies that are employers for the purposes of the Act. Section 92 of the Act authorises the Governor-in-council, by Order, to amend the Schedule in certain cases. The purpose of this Order is to amend the Schedule so as to include the Public Transport Union NSW Branch, but limited to employees who were

contributors to the Fund as at 1 March 1993 or to new employees after that date
who are contributors to the Fund immediately before becoming employees.

The Order will be taken to have had effect on and from 1 March 1993, the date on which the Public Transport Union NSW Branch was formed. (Section 92 (2) of the Act authorises an Order to be made so that it has effect on and from a date that is earlier than the date of its publication.)
