An Act to amend the Sulphate of Ammonia Bounty

Act 1962-1964.

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, the

Commonwealth of Australia, as follows:—

1.—(1.) This Act may be cited as the Sulphate of Ammonia

Short title

and citation.

(2.) The Sulphate of Ammonia Bounty Act 1962-1964* is in

this Act referred to as the Principal Act.

(3.) The Principal Act, as amended by this Act, may be cited

as the Sulphate of Ammonia Bounty Act 1962-1966.

2. This Act shall be deemed to have come into operation on

the first day of April, One thousand nine hundred and sixty-six.

3. Section 3 of the Principal Act is amended—

(a) by omitting from paragraph (a) of sub-section (2.) the

word

" a n d ";

(b) by adding at the end of that sub-section the following

word and paragraph:—

"and

(c) the period of six months commencing on the first day of April, One thousand nine hundred and sixty-six and ending on the thirtieth day of September, One thousand nine hundred and sixty-six."; and

(c) by omitting sub-sections (3.) and (4.) and inserting in

their stead the following sub-sections:—

"(3.) The Governor-General may, by Proclamation,

specify a date, being a date before the thirtieth day of

September, One thousand nine hundred and sixty-six,

but not before the date on which the Proclamation is

published in the Gazette, as the date on which bounty

shall cease to be payable.

"(4.) Where a Proclamation has been made under the last preceding sub-section, then, for the purposes of this Act, the period commencing on the first day of April, One thousand nine hundred and sixty-six, and ending on the date specified in the Proclamation shall

be deemed to be, and at all times from the first day of April, One thousand nine hundred and sixty-six, to have been, a period to which this Act applies in lieu of the period specified in paragraph (c) of sub-section (2.) of this section.".

4. Section 7 of the Principal Act is amended—

(a) by omitting from paragraph (a) the word " a n d "; and

(b)

by

omitting

its

stead

the

following paragraphs:—

"(b) in respect of sulphate of ammonia sold on or after the twenty-first day of May, One thousand nine hundred and sixty-four and before the fourteenth day of February, One thousand nine hundred and sixty-six, is Four pounds per ton; and

"(c) in respect of sulphate of ammonia sold on or after the fourteenth day of February, One thousand nine hundred and sixty-six, is Eight dollars per ton.".

5. Section 8 of the Principal Act is amended—

fifth period to which this Act applies—

(i) if that period ends on the thirtieth day of September, One thousand

nine hundred and sixty-six—is

Four hundred and fifty thousand

dollars; or

(ii) where a Proclamation has been made

under sub-section (3.) of section

three of this Act—is an amount

that bears to Nine hundred

thousand dollars the same pro-

portion as the number of days in
