An Act to amend the Sulphate of Ammonia Bounty

Act 1962-1964.

[Assented to 5 April, 1966]

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, the Commonwealth of Australia, as follows:—

1.—(1.) This Act may be cited as the Sulphate of Ammonia	Short title
and citation.

Bounty Act 1966.

(2.) The Sulphate of Ammonia Bounty Act 1962-1964* is in

this Act referred to as the Principal Act.

(3.) The Principal Act, as amended by this Act, may be cited

as the Sulphate of Ammonia Bounty Act 1962-1966.

2. This Act shall be deemed to have come into operation on	Commence-
ment.

the first day of April, One thousand nine hundred and sixty-six.

3. Section 3 of the Principal Act is amended—	Interpretation.
(a) by omitting from paragraph (a) of sub-section (2.) the

word " a n d ";

(b) by adding at the end of that sub-section the following

word and paragraph:—

"and

(c) the period of six months commencing on the first day of April, One thousand nine hundred and sixty-six and ending on the thirtieth day of September, One thousand nine hundred and sixty-six."; and

(c) by omitting sub-sections (3.) and (4.) and inserting in

their stead the following sub-sections:—

"(3.) The Governor-General may, by Proclamation,

specify a date, being a date before the thirtieth day of

September, One thousand nine hundred and sixty-six,

but not before the date on which the Proclamation is

published in the Gazette, as the date on which bounty

shall cease to be payable.

"(4.) Where a Proclamation has been made under the last preceding sub-section, then, for the purposes of this Act, the period commencing on the first day of April, One thousand nine hundred and sixty-six, and ending on the date specified in the Proclamation shall

be deemed to be, and at all times from the first day of April, One thousand nine hundred and sixty-six, to have been, a period to which this Act applies in lieu of the period specified in paragraph (c) of sub-section (2.) of this section.".

Rate of

bounty.	4. Section 7 of the Principal Act is amended—
(a) by omitting from paragraph (a) the word " a n d "; and

(b) by omitting paragraph (b) and inserting in its stead the

following paragraphs:—

"(b) in respect of sulphate of ammonia sold on or after the twenty-first day of May, One thousand nine hundred and sixty-four and before the fourteenth day of February, One thousand nine hundred and sixty-six, is Four pounds per ton; and

"(c) in respect of sulphate of ammonia sold on or after the fourteenth day of February, One thousand nine hundred and sixty-six, is Eight dollars per ton.".

available 5. Section 8 of the Principal Act is amended—

(a) by omitting bounty. from paragraph (b) of sub-section (1.) the

word "and"; and

(b) by omitting paragraph (c) and inserting in its stead the

following paragraphs:—

"(c) in respect of sulphate of ammonia sold in the fourth period to which this Act applies is Nine hundred thousand dollars; and

"(d) in respect of sulphate of ammonia sold in the

fifth period to which this Act applies—

(i) if that period ends on the thirtieth day of September, One thousand

nine hundred and sixty-six—is

Four hundred and fifty thousand

dollars; or

(ii) where a Proclamation has been made

under sub-section (3.) of section

three of this Act—is an amount

that bears to Nine hundred

thousand dollars the same pro-

portion as the number of days in

the period from and including the

first day of April, One thousand

nine hundred and sixty-six, to the

date specified in the Proclamation

bears to three hundred and sixty-

five.".

6. The Principal Act is amended as set out in the Schedule to	Amendments
in relation to

this Act.
